Methodology Toolkit

Get projects registered and issuing, faster

Applicability screening, dynamic baselines and Performance Benchmarks for VM0047, Isometric's Reforestation Protocol, and other dMRV-enabled methodologies. Audit-ready deliverables in days, not weeks.

The answers the methodology asks for

Send us a boundary and get back the analyses your methodology prescribes. Every deliverable is built on Biomass Atlas, our proprietary ground-truth dataset calibrated with multi-scale lidar, with documentation a VVB can follow step by step.

Applicability screening

Every pixel in your AOI tested against the methodology's eligibility criteria: forest cover history, presence of wetlands and peatlands, protected areas, overlap with other carbon projects, land tenure and more. Delivered as a summary report, pass/fail rasters and a corrected boundary option.

Donor pools, dynamic baselines and Performance Benchmarks

All prepared to the methodology's specification. Deliverables include a Performance Benchmark report, the underlying datasets, and a standardised process document covering every step. Sylvera is one of the first vetted Verra DSPs,

Forecasting, monitoring and issuance

A dynamic baseline at every verification event. Calibration using your ground truth data. Monitoring data between verifications keeps your investors and offtakers current. Where the methodology allows, issuance backed by remote sensing data.

What sets Sylvera's data apart

Named as a vetted data service provider by Verra and built on proprietary Multi-Scale lidar data collected across 250,000+ hectares, we provide market-leading accuracy at a cost effective price point.

Other data providers

Consultants are slow, expensive, and their bespoke work is hard to, or impossible to replicate
DIY with free public data burns weeks and yields answers that are hard to defend
In-house GIS teams lack economies of scale; each new project is a fresh data hunt
Point solutions stop at registration
Geospatial data bills grow if the donor pool turns out bigger than expected
Outputs from a developer's own tooling invite VVB and investor scepticism
Standardised, documented analysis delivered in days, with outputs a VVB or investor can retrace
Built on Biomass Atlas calibrated with >250,000 ha of proprietary multi-scale lidar data
Your data compounds across projects, so per-project cost falls as you scale.

FAQs

Which methodologies do you cover?

Sylvera is one of the first vetted Data Service Providers (DSPs) for Verra’s VM0047. Our experience spans multiple standards, registries, project types, and methodologies. Most of our work is focused on VM0047, Isometric's Reforestation protocol & Equitable Earth's methodologies. Contact us to learn more about our relevant experience for your project's specifics.

How much does this cost - what is the pricing?

Engagements are structured as a fixed deliverable for a fixed fee, so you can budget with confidence. Pricing depends on the number of projects and the deliverables required. Contact the team to discuss.

How quickly can I get a full set of project analysis done?

Once we receive all the required data from you, draft analyses are available in days.

Is this self-serve, or done by Sylvera analysts?

Today, deliverables are produced by Sylvera’s Geospatial Intelligence team using our internal tools, with a process that includes direct collaboration and review loops. We're developing self-serve access through our Co-innovation Program. If you're interested in early access, contact us to discuss.

Sylvera also rates carbon projects. Is there a potential conflict of interest?

No. Methodologies prescribe deterministic analyses, and we execute them using data anyone can use: Biomass Atlas is available directly from Sylvera or through distribution partners. Developers complete, sign and submit their PDD, and decide if, how, and which of our outputs to use. Sylvera's Ratings analysts are ring-fenced from these engagements, and ratings are produced independently of commercial outcomes.

How do I know the Sylvera treatment aligns with the methodology requirements?

Sylvera has been vetted by Verra as one of the first VM0047 Data Service Providers, has jointly stress-tested applicability screening through Performance Benchmark construction with Isometric, and supplies biomass data adopted by Equitable Earth. Every deliverable ships with a standardised process document describing each analytical step, tested with VVBs and standards bodies.

How can I trust the Sylvera analysis?

We built our Geospatial Intelligence suite to clear our own internal bar, which is among the most demanding in the market. Every analysis is reproducible from documented inputs, so you and your VVB can check the working rather than take our word for it.

My project data is sensitive, how do I know you will take care of it?

Sylvera deeply understands the importance of trust when it comes to client data. Uniquely in this space, Sylvera is compliant with ISO 27001: the leading international standard for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), providing a risk-based framework to protect data confidentiality, integrity, and availability. We have undertaken highly sensitive work for governments, institutional financial institutions, top tier consulting firms and the largest companies in the world.

What if I already have a geospatial data provider?

Our geospatial team have extensive experience with greenfield and brownfield projects. Biomass Atlas offers a variety of stocking index options, which allows us to incorporate or compare any pre-existing work you might have

Should I buy Biomass Atlas or the Methodology Toolkit?

Biomass Atlas is the data, for teams who want to run the analysis themselves. Methodology Toolkit is the full set of answers: we run the methodology's analysis and hand over the deliverables, documentation and supporting datasets. Toolkit deliverables are built on Biomass Atlas, so you can move between the two if your circumstances change.
