The Carbon Credit Analytics API

October 13, 2023

Carbon markets are complex with multiple interconnected activities underpinning the life cycle of a credit; such activities include the origination of credits, buying and selling credits, and managing a portfolio. The complex structure of the market is represented in how market participants structure their teams and operations.

With the market maturing and requiring more resources within organizations to navigate it, more data is needed to make the informed decisions and strategies. As multiple teams cover the varying activities in the market, they are looking for the ability to consolidate and disseminate data so insights can be shared across stakeholders.

As a single point of data access, web applications will not fully align with the needs of market participants which is why we decided to launch an API. The Carbon Credit Analytics data covers 1500+ companies’ retirements with data changing weekly.

Accessing this data via API will allow our customers to always have the most up-to-date information on companies’ retirement activities in the voluntary carbon markets. The API will also make it easier for our customers to identify new data points added to our datasets, and share these insights easily cross-functionally and with all relevant stakeholders.
